Did a tiny bit of wheeling... weird noise.

So it rained yesterday and I found a small little little puddle off the side of the road proably like 8 inches deep and almost as long as my truck... So I got out and inspected it, went thru it slow didnt get stupid with the pedal, and on the way out there is a slight incline and i heard a slight like gear whine? very faint I dont even know if thats what u would call it... so I stopped and went thru it again... this time I noticed after I got thru I smelled something like cheap hot electronics... I couldn't find anything, and the truck was running at the right temp... I'm wondering if it was the T-case, front diff or something? Maybe nothing because I drove it in 4x4 hi on the way home for a mile and it was fine.

Whine is probably tcase/front diff, smell is probably muddy water burning on any of a few hot surfaces. You can never be sure though....
