CLEANING POLISHED WHEELS - salt stains

Hey, I left my wheels on this winter and they have dulled up a lot, esspcially in the back (possibly from the brake drums????) anyways Im going to take them off and put on my old tires, which I should have done in the first place, just dont like the look. What is the best way to get the wheels shinning again, ive heard about X tream metal polish or somthing like that, any suggestions?
thanks

depending on what kind of metal, either steel or aluminum, depends on what kind of polish you use. If it's aluminum, i like mothers polishing compound, but whatever you decide to use, be prepared to put some time into it in order for them to look there best. might think about taking them off the truck to polish, unless you like sitin on your butt on cold concrete

I use the Mothers polish and it make them look really good. Just takes a little elbow grease, might wanna get somekinda motorized polisher/buffer cause it will make it alot easier.
