Timing on a 95 Tahoe

Is there a timing circuit which needs to be disconnected in order to check the true timing of the engine? If so, what wire needs to be disconnected and where is it?

As I understand it, you have to unplug the computer to get the true timing of the engine. The computer should be right behind the glovebox, if I recall. Not too hard to get to, really.

Not 100% sure of the location of the connector, but you are looking for a tan wire with a disconnect in it. Some trucks have them under the relay cover in the engine compartment, and others I have seen under the dashboard on the drivers side in the main computer harness. Just disconnect this wire and set your timing and you should be set.
