Throttle Body Spacer for 7.4l Vortec(1996)

I did a search and read the thread on about the one post pertaining to Vortec's and Throttle Body Spacers and was wondering if anyone else has had any luck using them on a Vortec. The Vortec Throttle Body is for Air management to the intake. How would putting a spacer in help? Just wondering and any comments are appreciated.

Hey Willys, Just curious are you making an assumption or have you tried it and proven it? I can't see how it would help either but, have seen two different posts that claim gains with the spacer. Thanks for your input

he knows what he's talkin bout, unfortunately i got suckered into one, before i found this board, and have regretted it since, it doesn't do for performance, or milage. save your money and buy some new heads.

I have one and I helped a little bit. If i were u i'd find one on ebay and pay like 50 bucks 4 it, otherwise its not worth it. Marginal mpg increase on a 350 vortec, maybe more on a 454. The reason for the increase is the air is spun and has greater velocity along with providing for better fuel air mixture (already pretty good).

I think your mistaking the performance gains from your lighter wallet in place of the spacer... I highly doubt your "spinning" air is still spinning by the time it runs through the intake and the plenums and past the valves and into the cylinder...

It may not improve fuel/air mixture, I heard all of this somewhere. But i will tell you it did make a little difference for me. If you have one and it didn't help then we have a difference of opinions, if u dont have one...dont insult others who do...ur just jealous...lol
