4l80e trans

Im going to have my trans rebuilt in my 91 dually 4x4 and since 91 the first year for the trans i was woundering wat is the latest year of 4l80e that will plug right in. I was woundering because i know the upgraded it so mony times since 91 plus i believe you can tow in od due to higher fluid presuer in the newer ones. So if i could get a newer on i would rebuild that instead. thank for any help

Re: 4l80e trans

4l80E is still in use today. towing in overdrive is not recommended with any transmission to my knowledge.

Re: 4l80e trans

I know there are different versions through the years since rebuild kits for them are different. Can't remember the first year change but I think it wasn't until 95 or so...
