15x8 to 16x8...curiosity

well i'm just thinking of going from my 15s to 16s....anyone got any random 16s with 33s or 35s they wanna part with - i'll trade ya my 15s and 33s? anyway, this really isnt a for sure thing, just something i'd do if i got the opportunity. i know the tires are more expensive, but, ehh

Are you running about 5" of backspacing with those 15"s or do they just barely clear? Just wondering if clearance/backspacing is the reason you're wanting to go up to 16"s. And of course tires will be more expensive, but the peace of mind is worth it in my opinion.

the BS is 3.75". I had to grind the corner down on the caliper, but the 15s fit. i just wanted to change the look of my truck a little bit. the asthetic difference is subtle, but there is a difference

Re: 15x8 to 16x8...curiosity

I have some stock steel and aluminum rims but no tires. I am willing to part with them for little more than shipping. Let me know. I have no idea what they weight but the Al. ones are the Z71 stock and the steel are Scottsdale trim stock.

Thankx for the offer, but I didn't want to go back to stockers. I still have my aluminum 16x7s with fairly new BFG 265s in the garage

Them is some close fittins! I would think that the bolt coming off the lower ball joint would be your problem, but not with only 3.75" backspacing. And yes, I realize when I said 5" of backspacing I was thinking backwards and meant less.

Re: 15x8 to 16x8...curiosity

ohh yeah, that bolt came close in fact, i still kinda get the chills every time i crawl under and see it

anyway, clearance isn't the issue on why i want to go to 16s. i just want to move to a different look by way of the stance. i've ran the 15s/33s for well over a year now without any problems.
