all electrical drops out while driving

My 91 GMC seirra has 4 x 4 is going dead. no lights, guages, radio, heater, engine, anything. Could this be an ignition problem? I am up for any ideas on the cause.

Thanks

fuses? relays? battery? bad alternator? check voltage from battery. sounds like it could be a dead battery and alternator.

Re: all electrical drops out while driving

Check the + battery cable. The ones on these model trucks absolutely suck. I have had nothing but problems from all 3 of these model trucks. I'm getting ready to convert mine to top post and my own wire. I've replaced the + cable to the fuse box twice now. The side terminals get corrosion inside them where you can't see and it runs down the wire inside the sheath. You never know you have a problem till one day when driving down the road and everything dies... Which has happened to me more than 10 times now

I had that problem with my 92, except it ate up 5 starters. Converted from side post to top post, and never had a problem after that.
