Put this in yo pipe and smoke it!

Ok ladies & gents. Got home monday from class and decided, "Hey I want roof clearance lights for my truck." So I drove to the dealership and ordered then. 9am the day after (which was yesterday), theyre in. I go to pick them. Ok, so yesterday I had some time off from mowing yards, landscaping and school so I put these on, (didnt come with the truck when I bought it.)

Took me about 4.5 hours because I didn't have the right bits, and had to go get new ones. drilled (10) 15/64" holes, and (5) 1" holes.

Drilling the 1" holes scared the crap out of me. That I was gonna jack the roof, but it turned out quite nicely.

Heres a link to the write up of the lights, so this would be the same for any chevy too, but I'm not sure where the harness would eventually tie into. But it's only 2 wires, so you could cut the ends, and rig something up for a chevy.

Total price.
$50 for the lights
$2 for the nuts
$30 for the harness.

The dealer I went to said they don't do this job, because they're afraid the roof will leak. SO they took my number and they will send everyone that wants roof clearance lights installed to me:-D
300 bucks profit!

(should have made my own harness, but ford had special connectors.)
80 bucks and 3 fried fuses later...

Nice. If you're gonna do work contracted from the dealer, i'd just cut their price in half and do it with no guarentee it won't leak. If you try and say it won't leak, in the rare chance that it does you will be screwed, because even if you stop the leak there will be headliner/interior damage to deal with.
Or thats what i would do.....
