i have an 89 gmc 1/2 ton stepside and my tire blew out one night and i hit the guard rail, messing up the front pass. side fender, a arm, driveaxle, grille, lights and bumper. I found an 89 4x4 chevy with no dents at all for 400 $ and it has all the parts i need but i have a question about the lights and grille. My truck had the 4 smaller headlights and the truck im looking at has the 2 bigger ones. Will i be able to swap everything from the grille to lights with no problems or can it not be done without cutting and rewiring? Also, the driveaxle poped out on impact and seems to be in good shape, should i reuse it? Thanks for the help

it sounds like you are looking at 2 different style grills, not just the different years. I'm thinking that one is a work truck grill, and the other is the nicer one. It'll all bolt up, wiring should almost fit. It can work, but give us a little more information and someone will tell you exactly what the deal is. SOmeone just recently did a swap from the Ls/Lt grill to a work truck one, so maybe they can help u out too...

your 4 head lights are going to stay,

the utilitly grill is what I call it, I dont think will work, because your headlight set up wont fit in the grill, but you can use a newer grill. the newer headlights are wider kinda 4 built into two. and those grills will fit on yours.

i need to replace everything including the lights so my question is can i make a grill like i had with the 4 headlight look into a 2 headlight utility grille which i will have everything for since im buying another truck with the utility grill and 2 bigger headlights alredy on it?

that I dont know,

Doing the high/low beam wiring to work with the 6054 (sealed beam bulbs used in W/T models) will be the most difficult part. the turn signals should snap in, and the grille will bolt right up.

I'd buy 94+ grill and headlights. eBay should have them cheap.

That answers my question about the grille just one more thing though. i have an 89, so i can use any grille from 88-98 correct? i know the 99-02's are def. not a bolt on. thanks
