I have a 1977 chevy 3/4 ton with dana 44 and a 205 transfer case. I am in the Navy and do not have a large income. The 44 should get me by until I can save for a dana 60. My question is the NP205. It looks like it will cost me a grand though advaced adapters. Anyone know of a better way or has done this and could give advice. Morgan
Sorry I posted the first message and did not give the trans in my 94 2500HD. It's a NV4500. I am just looking for info on this conversion. I would like to stay all chevy and the NP205 would be bullit proof as I have already gone through 3 stock cases. Morgan

What tranny do you have? Allison or 4l80e?

If you have the 4l80e you can get a factory adapter that was available in the 91 v30 pickups that came stock with 4l80e and np205. And then get a 32 spline female input shaft for the 205 from ORD

If you have the allison you have to find a ford 29 spline female input shaft for the 205 to make it work then re-drill the face of the 205 to the 6 bolt pattern since yours will be the hour glass pattern.
