What posi is in the 14 bolt SF

Question. I picked up a rebuilt 14 bolt sf with 4.10 gears and posi. If I have the rearend up in the air and I spin one wheel forward, the other wheel spins backwards. I thought both wheels would spin forward? Is this a gov lock in there and is this how it is supposed to work?

I'm not positive, but i don't think that will tell you for sure what is in there. Basically, that is what a differential is supposed to do. It could be an open diff, a gov lock, or think some lockers release when teh vehicle turns, so it could be a locker too. I'd say try and research it, or tear the cover off and look inside.....

If you had a true locker both wheels will spin the same way most likely you have an open diff, or if the axle is completely stock then it will have the gov-loc.
