oxygen sensor problems.

I have my headers and the rest of my exhaust put in in my truck, but now I have run into a problem of getting the oxygen sensor into the headers. I have a bung already for the sensor, but there is a crossmember(I suppose you could call it) that is preventing me from getting the sensor into its location. Any suggestions on what to do about that? Second, I have Afterburner headers, so they are a long tube, I suppose. I have found that the sensor that I got for my truck has too short of a wire off of it. Would I be able to splice some wire in to lengthen the oxygen sensor wire and still have the sensor maintain its function?

Re: oxygen sensor problems.

you can plug the hole, then put the plug in another location further down the line, before the cat of course. then just get enough wire to reach the sensor. you might want to stick it in a loom.

Re: oxygen sensor problems.

Got it all taken care of. The thing in the way was a bracket that held a brake line and something else, I believe. I just trimmed the bracket down while dad added some wire before the sensor hookup and voila, it all fits and works.
