Third Brake Light

I have a 99 four door chevy tahoe 4x4. The third brake light does not work. I have checked the fuses and they seem fine. Any other ideas how to fix this? I also checked the connector in the ceiling under the light.

Thanks for the help,
Landon

Re: Third Brake Light

Usually the HMSL is powered by a different wire on the brake switch. It also might have a relay in the system somewhere. Not a lot of info, but give you something to mull over.

Re: Third Brake Light

It is an LED light so it shouldn't be bulbs.

Yeah that's the strip of led's. Have you checked to see if there is power at the led's? Just check the wire and have someone hold the brakes on.

Re: Third Brake Light

The underhood fuse box has a fuse labeled CHMSL. Is it blown?

Just my two cents.
