Need help with Transmission!!!!

I have a big problem, my transmission is going/gone out. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to get a new or remanufactured one. The shops in town want 1K for theirs. Any help would be great. I think I have a 4L60E. Is this the best/only route that i have or can i put a different tranny in. Thanks

check at summit or other places on line. You can easily spend more than a grand on a new one though. The best thing to do is to take what you have to a good shop with HD or performance parts and have it rebuilt. That is just my 2 cents. Good luck.

heres my line of thinking. if it broke then it shouldnt be replaced. it should be upgraded. i mean yeah, you can get a bad part here and there, but if it was maintained properly and it still went out on you, you're better of having it rebuild with the vette servos and clutch packs. its about the same price range and you'll have better quality
