14 bolt question??

Ok.. I posted this over at CK5 and I am still a little lost.

I would like a bolt in 14 bolt FF axle replacement for the rear of my 93 half ton 4x4 Chevy. Does such a thing exist?? If it does, what do I get it off of? How much should I pay?? If its cheaper to get one that I have to move perches and shock mounts, what should I get and how much should I pay??

I dont have a whole lot of time to get to a boneyard to measure and scope things out myself as my work schedule is 10 hours a day, 6 days a week... I appreciate any help!

Re: 14 bolt question??

Yes, you can swap to a 14 bolt FF, however, it will be 8 lug. If you want to stick with a 6 lug maybe you should look at the SF route. You can find either of these axles in the 88-98 trucks. I would imagine the earlier and later models would work as well, however I don't know about the lengths. Price wise, it seems varies across the country. Here in Tennessee I could probably pick one up for 200-250. Depending on what you are doing the SF may be adaquate for your needs.
