Re: divorced 400 and 205

Uh, you mean 400 and divorced 205? No such thing as a divorced 400...

Anyway, yeah the 205 is an excellent case other than the not so great low range and the divorced version just has a yoke on the input instead of bolting to the tranny...

Re: divorced 400 and 205

Old Dodges and Fords used them, like pre 79ish... There were different versions with different spline counts depending on year and application as well as drivers and pass. side drop configurations.

Re: divorced 400 and 205

Divorced 205s came in Dodge and Ford, from 70-71 to about 77, in the Ford version, and about 75-76 for the Dodge. I have a Dodge case, from a 73 1/2 ton. The Dodges were 1/2 and 3/4, and heard of 1 ton, just never saw one. Ford was I think 3/4 ton only, higboys and I think some other optioned ones. Dodge case are nice cause they have the 32 spline on all inputs/ouputs, makes it easier to upgrade to bigger u-joints.
