OT: whats your favorite tool?

I was cleaning out the toolbox the other day and thinking about when I got certain tools and why. I do love all of them, especially my BFH collection. I was just wondering what your favorite tool was. I just got an air compressor, which I love, and I am enjoying everything that can be plugged into it.
My favorite tool: The air hammer and all of the chisels.

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

I couldnt say wich tool is my most favorite. Id have to say that the set of tools onboard my truck is more inmportant than the toolbox in the garage.
Ive bought special tools for special jobs that cost an arm and a leg and well they were special ounce and may never be used again.

grinder comes to mind as a frequent user, along with the drill, hack saw and welders that I frequntly use.

but pretty much whatever rides on the truck is the most favorite. for somereason I love getn in binds out in the middle of nowhere then looking through my tool box and findin I can fix it right there. blah. next set of tools is dewlat 5 pack. findin theres just to many uses for a sawzall drill and even skillsaw. not to have portable power ohhhhh maybe dewalt 3/4 wrench or whatever they come in Ive seen a 12v one but I cant stand 12v stuff.

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

I have a special place in my heart for the one that works when everything else does not. It's subject to change of course.....

My least favorite can be seen flying across the yard from time to time... and it too, is subject to change. Heck, it might have been last weeks "favorite". LOL

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

I have some anger managment issues from time to time......

Most of it is a result of the factory placing nuts in bolts in areas that damn near require removing the truck from the area to get at.

Oh, although I would not call them tools, I would not go anwhere without my good supply of bungee cords.

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

My air compressor is by far my favorite tool.

Second to that is a high-quality pair of channel-locks. If not the actual channel-lock brand then crescent brand will suffice.

Next to that would be a large pair of side-cutters.

After that is linesmen pliers.

After that is needlenose pliers.

Then half inch ratchet...

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

my new favorite has to be the air compressor.
Having an impact wrench is great, but im sure there are more pneumatic tools that i will love when i get them (don't have many rite now).

When i started buying tools for my truck and for the garage, i had to buy a lot without a lot of money, so i bought a bunch of cheap $hit tools. They got the job done for the time being, and cheap tools are a hell of a lot better than no tools....

But now i'm starting to invest money in quality tools. First purchase being full craftsman wrench sets in both metric and standard. And for a kid that grew up using mainly a cresent wrench, these are awesome. So now i get to look forward to purchasing more quality tools.....ah the possiblities

Re: OT: whats your favorite tool?

351 piece mechanics tool set is nice to have, the floor jack and 4-way i keep is always more handy than the stock unit.
in a couple of weeks my truck will be wired for 110 volt power so the limits are endless there, but i think my favorite tool of all is the oxy-acetylene. tanks and what sare at home now but will be on board soon.
