If its not the defroster running, then it sounds like you may have a bad cycling switch. While the truck is running and the compressor is stuck on, try pulling the plug on the switch that is mounted on the reciever/dryer. If your compressor stops then, you need to replace that particular switch. Some newer trucks also have an overload switch on the compressor itself, that may be defective also. The switches are dirt cheap and may be good insurance to replace them both - if both exist. Let me know what you find out.
