Vortec engine in TBI truck

Has anyone replaced their 350 TBI engine with a 5.7 Vortec? I was wondering about the power increase. Also can a 454 SS TBI be used on the stock GM TBI to Vortec manifold to get some more air into the engine?

Re: Vortec engine in TBI truck

TBI and vortec engine have a 20-40hp difference right out of the factory. so, you might notice a difference. you'll need the computer with the engine.

or you can go with a vortec heads, TBI/vortec manifold, and TBI unit.

to get more air into the engine - first off, have you tried modifying your air intake system? if not, do that first. it makes a difference right off the bat. i know, i did that mod.
