Re: new truck hell yeah

i broke the shifter itsef. there is like aplastic cup lookin thing that bolts to the top of the transmission. it has a hole on top were the stick rotates. it broke around the bolt holes and fell off. devils den is a huge chunk of publicly owned land.fill with nothing but hill climbing, rock crawling, and mudding. i have spent hours back there and never gone through all of the trails.

Re: new truck hell yeah

That's the tranny shifter tower. It is an alumnium piece with 4 bolts in it. The seal between it and the tranny is like $24 and the housing (tranny shift tower) is around $60 I think. The hard part is getting the 8 screws and the rubber thing off of the floor, the rest is cake. Super easy to fix, It shouldn't take more than an hour to fix even if you're being careful and slow. They say that you don't need silicone on the new seal, but I did it anyway. How the heck did you break that thing anyway? I figure you must have been slaming HARD through the gears on a washboard road or something, then a big red alien (they're the bad ones) came and broke it with mental powers.

Re: new truck hell yeah

the tower was actually plastic and it only has four bolts holding it in. i think what actually happened is tht one of the bolts fell out and it started to vibrate until it cracked. but yes i was slamming gears. it was my first day with the truck and i was havein fun.
