<font color=green>Looks like an 80's style show truck. Personally I find it kind of ridiculous. Too shiny and not nearly enough mud on it, probably because it never sees any... I don't get the gullwing doors, seems like alot of work for not alot of gain.

Re: check this booger out!

I agree with Shaggy. TOO SHOWY for me. And the doors are definetly "Pimp Daddy"
I got nothin against a little chrome (or better yet polished aluminum) but the only offroad that thing has ever seen is a driveway
It does look like 4 wheel steering ! the axles, tires, lift, would be cool on a different truck, or hell just loan me the truck for a week without being held finacialy responsible I could fix it to be a real 4 wheeler

<font color=green>The problem with those axles is that in order to have legal brakes you have to run 20" wheels. Nad inthat case they are so wide that the tires stick out like a foot on either side. Actually you can run regular discs, but the kit is way too expensive to do it. I can't tell from the pic, but he's probably running a single pinion mounted brake on each axle, that's how alot of th those 2.5 tons are set up. Not only that, but 6.17s are all that's available for gears and they weight about 250+ lbs more than a D60. And the shafts are still only 1 9/16" in diameter. I almost bought a pair of them for $100, but decided they would take too much work to build up.

Re: check this booger out!

The funny thing is; when I was in high school in 81-85, all the trucks in magazines looked like that one. There was no way on earth my old 77 (which had seen too much wheelin', mostly by me) would have ever made it into a mag. Now that I'm older, and drive a 97 that I keep very clean, despite the fact that it still sees a lot of wheelin', whenever I open a mag, all I see are trucks like my old 77

Re: check this booger out!

yeah probably, we all have to rule something right??

Id like to use that 4 wheel steer in the trees that would be nice to be able to steer the rearand away from stuff.

<font color=green>I'm saying that those axles are better for bragging about having 2.5 ton axles than anything else. The only thing that is *that* much stronger than a D60 or a 14bFF is the housings themselves, the drop in top loading third member is nice, but in reality the axle isn't *that* much stronger than a built one ton axle. Now if you want to add all of the Avalanche goodies to the axle, then I'd be the first in line to say "Sweet!", but I don't have $10k to spend on each axle. All I'm saying about 6.72s is I wouldn't want to have to drive very far to get to the trails. And weight matters if you aren't running a blown big block. these axles weigh nearly 900 lbs EACH in stock form. That's pretty dang heavy. here's the specs on the Avalanche version, which uses only the stock third member -

4130 chromoly housing
4 1/2" X 1/2" wall 4130 chromoly axle tube
40 spline 300M axle shafts through out (steering and non-steering axles), 1.75" no taper to 16 spline
Replaceable billet chromoly steering yokes for 1 1/2 ton u-joints 510 series
2 1/2 ton Rockwell, 3rd members 6.72:1 ratio only
Heavy-duty 1 1/2 ton brake/hub/steering assy. (steering assemblies do not have lockout hubs)
Over 7" gain in drive shaft clearance over other axles
619 lb. on steering axle
1" more clearance than a Dana 60
From $8500.00 approx.
