Re: air charger

Here is a picture of what it should look like. I found it on K&N's website.

Re: air charger

I thought mine would have hoses and stuff and that was the pic on the site, but it was just an extra tall, open element K&n with a cheapish looking crome lid, that was on a 94

Re: air charger

If it's a 95 it should be a TBI. As far as I know, the setup for TBIs is the open element like mentioned above which is what I have.

Re: air charger

What I did with my '92 TBI is purchase a K&N filter and an Edelbrock chrome air cleaner deal for carb vehicles. The ring for the TBI and a carb that the air clearer housing sits on is about the same diameter, but the air filter housing sinks down instead of up. Flip the bottom part of the housing over and walla.....you can run the same set-up that you see on the older vehicle a lot. You just need to extend the threaded rod in that the cap screws onto for the filter housing. I will see if I can find a pic.

Re: air charger

They usually have the Air charger like the one in the first picture for 96 and up 5.7's because they are vortec. I have a buddy who had a set up that removed his vortec box and everything and just went from the throttle body straight to the filter. Mine goes from the vortec air box to a short pipe. I will post pics later. Just call K&N and see what they would give you, if you ordered one for you truck.
