long trip. suggestions for the truck?

well spring break is march 1st. and I"m heading down to florida...panama city beach actually. we've got 12 guys going down in two trucks. mine and one like mien but with the auto tranny. anyways, what do ya'll recommend to prepare for the trip. I"m gonanchange oil before i go, and of course have tools and extra belts...etc. anything that i might overlook and i shouldn't though? OH, my truck will have 4 guys and depending o nthe weather...and suzuki GSXR-750 in the bed. i will be carrying all of the gear. the other truck has a topper and will haev 4 guys in the cab, and another 4 in the bed (it has a topper)
I"ll take all suggestions and recommendations ya'll want to toss my way.
thanks.

dont eat beans, the night before the trip
12 guy's + 2 trucks + beans

Some people take extra belts and hoses, what I do is change my belts and hoses before the trip, and take my old ones with. I would much rather put new ones on at my house then the side of the road on a hot engine.

Don't let 4 guys ride in the back of the truck with the topper. That is were the beer should go. Make those guys ride in the back of your truck.

Re: long trip. suggestions for the truck?

looks like your covered. suppose you're taking all your fluids with you. motor, ps, brake, rad, tranny, water and beer. a gas can. i took one and i'm glad i did. went to el paso once and didn't notice my gas gauge was stuck. i decided to get gas anyways cuz i thought it was weird that i went so long without a refill. turns out i needed one and it would have been a very long walk to the next gas station.

If you are laoded down, and don't have a tranny cooler, then take it easy if you get into any winds. thats how I messed up my tranny in west Tx. I was coming back from NM, and was in a wicked dust storm....should have just slowed down but I wanted to get home. Tranny got hot and cooked.....6 months later it was needing a rebuild.

<font color=green>Rubbers, definately rubbers. Oh wait, for the truck? Sounds like you got it covered. Bring a video camera and get some good stuff, then I'll swap you for a copy of my Mardi Gras video...

Re: long trip. suggestions for the truck?

yeah, I'l have all my fluids. we will have ample rubber. both vulcanized and latex. beer will not eb transported. well in one of the vehicles. one of teh guys with us is 21. we're gonan buy in tennesee i think..someone lloked it uop and the alcahol tax is cheaper in one of teh states along teh way.
good call o nchanging hoses and everyhtingbefore the trip. i think mine are ok so i dont want to change yet, but I'd like to be prepared if anything does happen.

Also...what do you think of a sign in place of my flag...something along the lines of "lets see some <insert body part that you'd like to view>" it would look like this but with a sign

<font color=green>I just looked at where you're driving from. I don't envy any of you guys. 4 guys in the cab of a truck from Michigan to Florida!? Geez man, those guys in the back seat are gonna be hating life, and the guys that are riding in the bed are going to be suicidal! I can't imagine that 4 guys in the bed of one truck for 1000+ miles is going to be very much fun. And those are some mighty large exhaust tips... Compensating?
