THE LIFT IS OFF!

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! THAT POS RANCHO 2-3" LIFT IS OFF MY TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's sitting in the basement in a box. Should I put send it to Rancho with a note attached that says "KEEP YOUR SH$T!!!" ?

Only problems were the bushing on the back of the diff that Rancho uses doesn't quite work right for the stock configuration, the front diff skid plate won't bolt back up because the stuff it bolted to was removed to make the lift work, and I forgot to get the bracket for the idler arm so he left the stock one on there. I'm going to get the correct bushing for the diff on Friday, I can jimmy something up to get the skid plate on there, and I'll have the Moog bracket for the idler arm later this week, so he can put it on next week.

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe.............. .it rides so much better, and even steers better. Next week with the idler arm on it should steer great! I'll finally be able to drive it in a straight line!

Now I just have to get rid of these RS5000's for some Bilstein HD's.

Oh yeah, hit 100,000 miles about 2 weeks ago.

If you're in the Western Michigan area and need work done on your truck, call Brian at Off Road Motorsports in Grand Rapids. (616)455-8611 Does great work at great prices. Nice guy too!

Re: THE LIFT IS OFF!

Glad to hear the trucks driving straight!

Send that box of junk right back to Rancho with a nice, polite letter explaining all of the problems that occured because of it; and tell then that because of their shoddy design you won't be buying Rancho, and will be recommending fellow wheelers against buying Rancho products.

Beat up 78 GMC 3/4T Camp. Spec. 350/465/205; needs less work. 265/75R16 BFG M/T

Re: THE LIFT IS OFF!

Have you ever talked to "Rancho" about the problems you have had with their kit, to see if they would be willing to work with you, on making this right???
(Forgive me if you have already covered this in earlier posts that I dont remember seeing)

You cant judge a company by having a problem, these things happen with every company, its how well they deal with problems that makes a great company

Re: THE LIFT IS OFF!

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, been busy. Work and such.

I think I really am going to send the shi...........lift kit back to them in a box. Have to make sure they don't think it's a bomb though. Box is still sitting there full of old parts and the lift, so I gotta sort through it. I am going to put a note in there detailing all of the crap this stupid kit has put me through and cost me. I would recommend their 4" IFS lift to other people, BUT NOT this kit. I also know their 1.5" Toyota Tacoma kit SUCKS BALLS, yet their 1.5" S10 kit is the hot stuff for S10's. They seem to make good stuff and garbage all at the same time. If I'm lucky I'll get a letter of apology out of it. If I'm REALLY lucky they'll compensate me for all my troubles with it.....................YEAH RIGHT!!!!.............

It's not driving completely straight yet. I forgot to get the bracket that the idler arm attaches to the frame with (the actual part the "2 bolt" or "3 bolt" refers to), so he couldn't put the new idler arm on yet. I'm waiting on it to get here from Wisconsin, they seem to be low on them nationaly. I just took the 1.5" blocks out of the rear. So it's sitting slightly butt low now. Going to "decrank" the torsions a little tomorrow. It goes in next week whenever my idler arm bracket EVENTUALLY shows up. Then Brian over at ORM can install his adapter bracket and the new Moog 3 bolt idler arm. Then it will steer SO much nicer. It rides a lot better now, and the front seems to have some actual travel to it now. Stock height with Rancho uprated torsion bars might have something to do with that.

Shotgun, well, they've only got like 20,000 miles on them, but if you want to know if they are any good or not, no they aren't. They suck, but they're still on the truck. I'm just waiting for the cash to miraculously appear in my bank account for me to afford Bilstein HD's on all 4 corners. That could take a while.
