tranny issues pt.2

thanks for the ideas folks
heres the current status.........still the same......
heres whats been checked and ruled out (with moderate certainty)
valve body,servo,governor gear,accumulators,tv cable and assembly,detent spring,fluid and filter,linkage
could the 3-4 clutch have gone without any evidence in the pan? (pan was totally clean)
could the VSS be bad, even with a functioning speedo and 1-2 shift?
or any other electrical problem?......man i'm stumped......thanks again all......any insight is appreciated

I don't know if this would help any or not, but you might try puttin a bottle of Trans-X in it and see if has a stuck valve or something like that. Just an idea..

Re: tranny issues pt.2

sounds like your third gear clutch pack took a dump. But normally you would find traces of it in the pan and converter.

Re: tranny issues pt.2

final update...........
after trying to avoid the inevitable, i bit the bullet and swapped the tranny yesterday
after figuring out that it takes a mile and a half of extentions to get to the top engine
bolts and battling with way overtorqued driveshaft bolts, the new one went in pretty smooth
test drive.......all gears,crisp shifts woohoo
guess the problem was in the clutches after all
thanks to all who replied to this post and tranny issues post.........on the road again..........
