Re: 3\" body lift

Here is the link for a Performance Accessories 3" body lift. Looks like yours is 152.95 without shipping. To have someone install it for you might cost up to 500. Why not do it yourself?

Re: 3\" body lift

Ive checked out the price of the kit and then for the hell of it asked install price. For the price of install I could buy 3.5 tires. So if you got the money and no time have it installed

Re: 3\" body lift

My body lift was about the same price as Yukon quoted you and the 4WPW here in Houston wanted almost 600 to put it on. You can do it yourself, just don't get in a rush and follow the directions. I put mine on by myself and it took me a whole Saturday. Having someone help you would be worth the beer it would cost you.

Re: 3\" body lift

haha I think swamper is stretchin the truth a little bit about the 1-2hour deal. It took me about 10hrs total but that was by myself, stretched over a week. did the back first and drove it to school all week, then did the cab the next weekend. not much difference in ext. or reg. just like two more pucks. all you need is a LITTLE experience with a wrench, two hands, a socket set, some pb blaster, and a friend, maybe a piece of bubble gum and some duct tape and THE GM STANDARD IFS TRUCKS AND SUV'S FORUM. we can answer any question you throw at us.

Re: 3\" body lift

PB Blaster is definitely a must-have when doing a BL. Drench all of the nuts, bolts, etc really well for 2-3 days before hand with the stuff, it'll make a world of difference, especially if you don't have air-tools. Also, when you're putting the BL on (or pretty much anything else), put a good coating of Nev-R-Seize on the bolts. If you have to take something off in the future, you'll be glad you did.

Re: 3\" body lift

My 3" body lift took 3 afternoons to install and that included a lot of standing around, drinking beer, and
talking to all my buddies that drove up at the house while I was working on it. It's not really hard to do, just take your time and do it right.

Where's my beer??

Re: 3\" body lift

I'm going to be doing that same lift in about a week or two. Hopefully I will be having a friend help me for some of the job. Only problem is he has a newborn and you Dads know how that is. But I am hoping to get it done on a weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

Due to the current economic situation, the light at the end of the
tunnel will be turned off until further notice.
