Modifing existing lift! More Beef

Well everyone says that pro comp lifts are weak, and even though i've never had any problems with mine i have decided to beef mine up. what i have is a 93 full size blazer with a 6" Pro Comp lift on it. A couple of ppl have said that they welded some of there brackets together, which brackets did they weld? And if you do this is it still alignable. To me it looks as if aint. So heres some pics of my plan... I plan on adding support of the lift in other places too.. just haven't looked and decided were to yet..tell me if you guys think this will help any, or just a waste of time.

Re: Modifing existing lift! More Beef

I don't know about welding it. I can illustrate some points as to why I think the Cepek lift is better.

Here is a pick of the Cepek lift almost completely installed.

Notice how the front crossmember works. It is bolted together with 12 grade 8 bolts 6 on each side. Your Procomp is only 1 bolt. Also take a look at Cepek's drop brackets for the upper control arms. Look at how much beefier they look compared to the Procomp ones.

This is all just my opinion.

Re: Modifing existing lift! More Beef

The first one I got from my brother when he managed a 4WD shop. Cost me around $1100 through him that included shocks. We did the work. The second one I got which I put on my Burban I got through a buddy who used to work with my brother. Cepek had gone under and he knew a guy who had a new kit just sitting in his closet. Seems he bought it and was waiting to save more money for tires and rims. Then it all just fell through for him and he needed money. I paid around $1200 for that including shocks.

Re: Modifing existing lift! More Beef

Big Red I have the Series II. I first bought the Series I then a budy of mine foiund the Series II parts and I bought them for $200. Right now I only have the Series I stuff on. I will add the Sereis II stuff later.

Teal, My brother did not own Truck Magic. He worked there. He worked in the Plano store then Managed the McKinney store. The plano store was then sold to 4WPW. The McKinney store was then sold to a guy who renamed it Truck Extreme. And it went under quickly.
