MSD Ignition Installation (now w/ pics)

Well, got my stuff yesterday. I got the 8.5mm plug wires that were for 92-97 4.3, but they worked fine on my 89. I also got a blaster 2 canister coil. well, i didn't realize how the top was differend. luckly, there was a place close by (30 min.) that sells MSD stuff, so i went there and they made me a new coil wire with the correct end on it. I then installed the 6A box by the supplied directions. It fired right up. haven't driven it tho, there is a puddle of ATF under my truck for some reason... ill try to get some pics this weekend where i installed all the stuff at. I also have to regap my plugs, they suggest .060. if you want any part numbers let me know.

Re: MSD Ignition Installation

sounds like you got the ignition going
as far as the Trannie leak you may have a bad frount seal in the trannie My 89 I had had the same problem with the frount seal replace it and you should be fine from there while your at it it would probably be a good idea to change the fluid and filter for good measure

Re: MSD Ignition Installation (now w/ pics)

Hi, can you put oil in the engine with the coil placed there ?
btw there is a new oil filler plug (screw on type) available - the old plug type plug likes to harden and break off and fall in the engine - mine did.

Greetings from Austria
