CV SHAFTS! Why the different prices?

Ok so the front suspensions are the same on all unmodified 1st gen 4x4's right.

Well go to autozone and price a cv shaft for a 2.8l 4x4 then a 4.3l 4x4 of the same year. Here at my local store the 2.8l shaft is $30 more. The difference between the two? NOTHING! Except a little part number and price.

Re: CV SHAFTS! Why the different prices?

I would have thought that it would be the other way around (4.3 more $$) and I would have also thought that the 4.3 would have to be a little stronger, although, I haven't had any problems running my 283 with my 2.8 shafts. Maybe the demand is down for the 2.8 so by giving it a different number they think that it will scare the consumer away from buying the 4.3 shafts and they can charge more!?

What did the Auto Zone people have to say about it?

He who toots his own horn is talking out of his A$$.
