I was in a hurry this morning and Locked my only set of keys in my 84 s-10 Blazer (in the on position, radio on, etc...). Anyway, I have a Slim Jim and would appreciate any tips or techniques to get the truck open. Then I promise to go straight to the HW store for a set of duplicates. Help! Any tow truck drivers or Ex Cons got a tip for me?
I locked myself out of mine at a junk yard and the guy had a wire looking thing that went under my window and inside the cab. He worked it around and flipped the door lock to unlock from the inside. I didnt think it would be possible but he didnt have much trouble. Maybe he has a second job at night ???
you have to go in around the rear of the door, slide it between the window and the door frame and you will feel the lock bar, grab it eith the sj and slide it to the front of the truck, bada bing bada boom, your in, it will take a bit of pratice to perfect this though...
I gave it a shot and ended up somehow knocking the rod out of the door handle. I did not want to risk doing the same to the other door so I ended up calling the Locksmith.
$80 and 15 seconds after the guy showed up, the truck was open. At least he was also able to cut me some new spare keys while he was there. Door is now fixed.
Thanks for the Replies!
