electronic problems

Ok, so I am having major problems with the electronics with my '97 Jimmy. First, my radio display and digital compass blinked when I turned on my left blinker, then they blink when I applied my brake, now I notice that my rear running lights are abnormally bright and my top horizontal brake light is on with my running lights. And, my cruise control now mysteriously does not work. All of this happened in the last few days. Anyone have any ideas as to the root of this problem? Thanks for the help.
Scott

Re: electronic problems

Sounds like you have a common ground wire that is been rubbed away and is grounding on the chassis. Good luck finding something like that! You just have to look for some wires and check to make sure that everything is tight and you don't have any bare wire. A good place to start are the wire looms near major heat sources, and then wiring on or near something it could rub against.

That's the only thing I can think of!

Re: electronic problems

I second that,
A general rule of thumb: If electrical related things happen that are very strange it is one of two things; your truck is haunted or you have a bad ground somewhere.
