bushing replacement

I'm getting ready to order the poly bushing's for my 1992 GMC Jimmy, I' needing some help the ones I'm looking for are the complete front end assembly upper lower A-frames swaybar does the TB have a bushing on the front end of it? I 'm having trouble finding a complete kit. I thought at one time I had seen a kit that replaced the whole suspension and the body mounts I really don't need the bdy ones well maybe I'm still undecided about the body lift, I may just do the basic's to the suspension til I can affrd a lift. Does anyone know the names and location of all the bushing I need to replace? And does/has anyone done this already? any special tools required? Thanks in advance Victor

If it has tits or tires it will give you trouble.

Re: bushing replacement

I strongly recomend getting the t bar tool.. I have seen them on eBay.. It removes the preload on the bars so you can safely remove them.. I have seen a shop use big C clamps and one broke sending shrapnel into a guys leg.. That and a BFH is all your going to need..

Re: bushing replacement

Dont think they have a complete kit for your ride. What you need is a set of bushings for the leaf springs, control arms, body mounts, al seperate at least that all I could find for my ride.

Re: bushing replacement

Weazle,
Will I need to take the TB bar lose from the A-frame, I know it runs into the bottom of it? how much for the tool? I'm going to try to purchase those other bars later after talking to JBA I'm getting the headers in first. They may not work with a lift the steering knuckle goes throught the number 2 header tube.. Anyway the suspension is really starting to make noise gonna try to get it done next weekend.

If it has tits or tires it will give you trouble.

Re: bushing replacement

The whole bar comes out fromt eh back part of teh A-arm.. The tool is about $45 or so on eBay.. See them from time to time.. JBA makes different headers for different lifts for our S-10.. Talk to them directly and get eth scoop.. Make suree of what you want to do be cause I know they make a body lift, stock, and suspention lift version..
