tranny

My friend has an 91 s10 blazer and the tranny blew, it only had 1st and 2nd gears.. I was goind to try to use a tranny out of a chevy van with a 350, but now i found a tranny out of an 85 s10 blazer for $75.
My question is will the tranny out if an 85 with the 2.8 bolt up to the bellhousing and the transfercse of the 91 with the 4.3?
And anyone have any advice how to get the top 2 and middle dirver side bellhousing bolts out?. I cant fit a freakin socket in there or anything. I took the distributer cap off and tilted the thing but still cant get it.
Any help is appreciated.Thanks

John

The 2.8L (60 V6) bellhousing bolt pattern is definitely different than the 4.3l (smallblock chevy) bolt pattern. To get to those bolts you might undo some body mounts and raise that a little (very carefully)

The van transmission would bolt up to the 4.3L if it had a smallblock in it, but you'd have to find the tailshaft (and rear inners) for a 4x transmission because the van tranny is the 2wd (long tailshaft) version I believe.
