New In line 6

Just checked out the new in line 6 available for the trailblazer. Whoa, more power than the vortec 4.3 v6. Never would of thought that it would come to this. Heres some info from the site.

Power and Torque
TrailBlazer generates 270 hp at 6000 rpm and 275 lb.-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm. Translation: The powerful Vortec 4200 engine delivers a broad torque curve through the majority of the engine's speed range, which is helpful when hauling big or heavy loads. In fact, 90 percent of the torque is available from 1600 rpm to 5600 rpm

The all-new Vortec 4200 six-cylinder engine, standard in all TrailBlazer models, delivers more standard horsepower than any six-or eight- cylinder engine in its class

Re: New In line 6

I got to see a cut-away Inline 6 on a stand at the Canadian International Auto show in Toronto. It's a nice lookin' motor but I don't think I'd want to work on it.....very compact. My first thought was...it ate the alternator!

Re: New In line 6

Larry Ragland ran a Trailblazer in the Trophy Truck class for SCORE and Best in the Desert Events...

The thing looked ugly, but still had the I-6 in it.

If he didn't wad it up a couple of times, that truck would have been a consistent winner. It was fast, nimble, and still ugly!
