I make bumpers all the time. What do you need to know? If you want I can even make it for you the way you want it?

Re: 87 S10 BUMPER HELP

I usually run a 1/4 plate across the front, top and sides of the exposed frame rails and then attach everything to that especially if the person plans to attach a winch like you plan to. I also use nothing but grade or heavier hardware which again is a strength issue when winching vehicles. Obviously I am not going to just hand you my designs to copy at least that will get you started on the right track! What kind of welding process are planning to use? I would not use anything but SMAW(stick) or FCAW(flux-core) with the thick plate that you need to use. MIG does not really get enough penetration to safely join 1/4 plates with out alot of headaches. Good luck!
