I need a good set of m/t tires 31". Any ideas on what to get? I need ones that can be used year round and all day on and off road with good mileage

Re: tires....

<font face="Comic Sans MS">Cooper STT's... I have them in the 235/75 size and they're great... Good in the snow, on pavement, wet pavement... I haven't been able to get mine to hydroplane at all and I've literally tried just out of curiousity to see if I could do that since I had heard about how supposedly bad MT and more aggressive type tires would do in wet conditions. I can't find poor handling. Also they seem good on ice, or at least I've never had trouble... Oh, good in sand too.

Usually cost a bit less than BFG's and are said to have a comparable or slightly better tread life than the BFG's.

Re: tires....

I have the BFG AT KO 31x10.5x15. Great all around tire. A bit spendy but worth it. They look great too. Dont hum much on the road, like to throw rocks on gravel, float excellent in mud.

Re: tires....

I have a set of Yokohama Geolander M/Ts. they are a directional tire, and act kind of like a giant aquatread tire. have a 50 grand tire warrenty. i like them, they work good. attached is a pic

Re: tires....

I'll go with Sandman on the Coopers. I didn't like them on ice, however, but I run Nokians studded in winter. Plus with the Coopers on you sound like a Cessna coming down the road, scares the hell out of the tourists.

Re: tires....

It's hard to beat Cooper, wear great and cheaper than most. I heard the Yoko's are better off road, but wear pretty quick. That's hearsay, I've never tired them. My vote goes for Cooper STT's.

Hit? Them tires rub. Rubbin's off roadin.

Re: tires....

The reason everyone compares to BFG is because BFG is the best "IMHO"
The BFG's will be quieter and handle better than the Coopers or Yokohama's
(Honestly do you want to look at your AMERICAN MADE truck and see the word "YOKOHAMA" on the tires!!!)
BFG's,,,BFG's,,,BFG's the Best looking, Best wearing, Best handling Mud Tire made.

Re: tires....

Still the name kills it
Plus from what I have been told the second half of the Yokohoma's life is not pleasant, I have been told their handling goes to hell after half their life

Re: tires....

Well i had some uniroyal M/T's great tire but wore out way to fast. The BFG's clog to easy and i didn't want to get another M/T so i went looking for a A/T. I didn't like the lettering on the cooper. The best tire i found was the general grabber A/T looked good Work great in the mud and really good in the snow. Basically an all around tire o and the price was very good too. And it was a 31
