New vs. old

Which body style blazer can you fit the biggest tires on stock, with stock wheel. The old or the new 95-present?
And did any of the old style blazers come with a factory package that jacks them up w/ 31's like the new ZR2's?
Thanks

John

Re: New vs. old

Nothwithstanding the obvious from "****fire" here, I believe the newer model trucks (1994 to present) have a wider wheel opening for stock tire size. From what I understand a 30" tire can fit with no or minimal rubbing.

Re: New vs. old

I've seen several 95Up Blazer/Jimmys and 94up Sonoma/S10s with 31's stock. Even that new crewcab S-10 can fit 31x10.50's. Oh and they weren't Zr-2s or highriders either. I think the fenders are larger inside than the 1st generation. Just my $.02

Re: New vs. old

The 95 newer blazers will fit 30's without rubbing , 31's rub at full lock. The old blazer had a option of 235x75x15 which was just a bigger tire and with that option you could also get flares nothing big like ZR2's but a flare.

Re: New vs. old

I just got done doing the t bar and shackle lift on my buddys 91 blazer, it came with the 235s and flare package. The 31s on stock 15x7 rubbed the flares a lot in the back over small bumps, and front when turning over big bumps. I took them off and it didnt rub, so we trimmed the bottom inch or 2 and put them back on, no more rubbing the flare.
The wierd thing is that they rub the passenger side frame and anti sway bar a lot, not even full lock, but the drivers side barely rubs the sway bar and a little bit of frame at full lock and compression. Does the pass side tire just turn more or what?

Re: New vs. old

Did anyone everhave the problem of passenger side rubbing the frame at full lock more tnan drivers side? Any reason why it rubs more?
