Scary Steering!

Well today I went off-roading with my family, some pretty light stuff just some gumbo mud and a few bumps and such. After we were done and heading back to the house the steering wheel started jerking to the right for at intermittent times. It jerks hard and pulls the truck to right with it, it feels like somebody trying to pull the wheel to right but only for a split second at a time. What I need to know is what could cause this or if anyone else has experienced this what was done to fix it. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Scary Steering!

Hello,

Two things...

You have a lot of mud in your a-arms and that's affecting the steering. If there's a lot of mud it will throw off the balance of the truck. It freaked me out a couple of times as well.

Another thing is you might have popped the truck out of alignment pretty good by running in the mud... If the mud thing isn't the problem you'll probably need to get an alignment done!

And also just to be sure I would go under the truck and look for loose bolts. You know, just in case!

Re: Scary Steering!

Well washed and checked everything it still does it. The only thing I found was a small bulge on the right front tire. I'm going to take it to the tire shop and have them check/replace the tire and check the alignment on tuesday. If anyone else has suggestions I would appreciate hearing them.
