Superlifts VSSB

Am about to get 30x9.50 BFG AT's and a Superlift 2" lift kit for my 89' S-15 Jimmy. Does anyone have and info about the VSSB from Superlift. IE: How to install it and is it difficult? How will it affect the truck if it is left with the stock VSS. Any and all info will be helpful. Thanx in advance :O)

If I'm not mistaken a VSS is a vehicle speed sensor and a VSSB is an item used to calibrate the truck if you're running tires a different size than stock. However, I have been known to be wrong once in a while...

naw, your right... tire size and gear ratio changes that affect the spedometer, odometer, and shift points (electronic tranys, gauges, etc..) are adjusted to reflect non-stock setups. they are tire size/ratio specific, sometimes even custom burned.

Re: Superlifts VSSB

The Superlift VSSB is brand new to replace the old one they had.. The old one was burned for a specific tire size and ratio.. The new one is user adjustable.. It recalibrates the tranny shift points and corrects the speedo and ABS for the larger tires.. I called Superlift on this about two months ago and there tech support didn't know anything on it yet.. Im waiting for one.. The old one was about $140, the new one I think is going to be around $200..

Re: Superlifts VSSB

We'll I would like to tell ya'll that I got everything done to the truck today but I can't. It will be ready tomorrow. The guys over at Fourwheel Parts Warehouse are still waiting to hear back from Superlift on the VSSB. As far as price goes I really hope that Weasle is wrong but I think he's probable right on the money. I will know more in the AM, and post my findings on price an installation.
