Temp gauge

I have a 94 S-10 Blazer with 4.3 eng code w the temp gauge is reading hot! replaced the temp sending unit & thermostat water pump is fairly new no oil in radiator or antifreez in oil alternater is good {not over charging} any Ideas?

<font face="Comic Sans MS">Did it just start when you put the water pump in or after that? Did you drill a small hole in the flat part of the thermostat before you put it in? That lets any air bubbles that may be in there out easier. Did you test your thermostat by putting it in some hot water (about what it's rated at) and see if it opened? Is the coolant mix around 50% water and 50% antifreeze? What type of water pump is it? Some have an impeller that is only weakly attached to the impeller shaft. If the impeller comes off you get no water flow and no real cooling. Did you verify the guage readings, either by mechanical guage, or some similar method?)?

How hot is hot anyway? Just a few items to think about, or possibly check...</font>
