A few questions on my 95 blazer

Okay guys, I have a few questions. I have had my 1995 2-door 4x4 blazer for about 4 months and have experienced a few problems. First of all I have had the throttle fluctuate around 2000 rpm's, this has happened twice, the throttle just sort of starts to fluctuate up and down between 2000 & 2500 rpm's, this even happens on cruise control. Any advice? Next My speedo and tach needle seem to stick after long periods of driving, could this have to do withthe dash lights heating up the plastics and squezzing the needles between the dash panel and clear plastic cover? Any advice? Finally has anyone experienced an inaccurate fuel gauge, mine seems to jump very fast between 1/2 and empty. Oh yeah my passenger mirror also likes to vibrate on the expressway, any quick fixes? Please help if you can.

Thank You,
Derek Lisabeth

Re: A few questions on my 95 blazer

Hey,

1. Throttle probs -- things to check -- O2 sensor might be on it's way out. Throttle isn't adjusted right. EGR valve isn't opening and closing like it should (check with a vacuum guage). Distributor needs to be checked for cracks and fouled contacts.

2. Speedo/Tach sticking -- Could be? I'm pretty sure they are computer controlled? Might want to start by taking out that plastic face if you can and try to replicate the problem.

3. Fuel gauge -- Just about EVERY fuel gauge I know of does that. Especially Toyotas! The reason being that when the tank is over full it will hold on the first half like there's more gas in there. And then it just sucks gas like normal on the second half. As long as you get a good overall range there shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise you'll have to pull the float out of the tank and change it out or at least put a new resistor in there!

4. Mirror -- is there a tightening screw that you have to get to through the inside door panel? I don't have that problem so I haven't tackled it... yet!

Hope that helps or gives you some ideas.
