Well ,time for another dumb question..as for spotting a 3.4.I bought my S-10 Blazer from an aution and I have to say got a hell of a deal.No rust anywhere and no bondo.and looks great too,but It's supposed to be a 2.8 but It does have a 4 speed manual. Now the big thing is a couple of my buddys have had 2.8s in s-10's before and they all agree that this thing moves for a 2.8 .and for holding 70psi of oil pressure all day long at 111,000 miles so I,ve been thinking that the motor has been replaced.I had a 87 s-10 2wd pick up a few years ago with a 2.8 and this blazer could stomp that thing......It's gotta me a thunkin about this thing..

Re: 3.4?

Does the block have a crosshatch type pattern on the sides? A 3.4 does. If you look up a site about firestorm(ithink) he has good pictures of the block differences. Good luck
