2.5 into 2.84x4

Hey guys just wondered if a 2.5L 4 cyl will bolt up to a 2.8 5 speed trans?

I just asked this Question of a GM tranny guy I know But going from a 2.5 to a 2.8. He said it wouldn't work. I haven't looked real close at the bolt pattern yet but i could in the daylight tomorrow if you want me to. I have 2 fieros 2.5 and 2.8. jeff

I finally got a look at the 2.5 block and to me it looks different than the 2.8

Now I'm even more confused than usual. On the s-series site hellcat has posted the 2.5,2.8,3.1,3.4 all have the same tranny bell pattern. I haven't measured but to me it looked different. jeff

Thanks for the help, but I now think I'm leaning towards a 4.3 using a V-8 bellhousing on the T-5 and a stock 4.3L radiator. Should be an easy swap. I jsut don't think the 2.5l would have given enough torque for 33s.
