Brushgaurds

okay so I finally found a company that has brushgaurds that dont hook into where the tow hooks are on the blazer (i hate how that looks) now here is my question since the brushgaurds mount to the frame, but my body has been lifted 2 inches how can i mount brushgaurds??? Anyone ever done this? Do brushgaurds just mount into existing holes in the frame? I mean i have ZERO experience with this. Could i just drill new holes in the brushgaurds so they mount up right??? Someone has got to know this.....I hope.
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Brushgaurds

RH,

You "could" mount new holes to make it jive with the body lift, but just be sure that you don't drill too close to the edges of the metal. Since most if not all brushgards only mount to the frame (or even bumper, yuck) there is no top support and they can vibrate a bit. May cause your new holes to work the metal. Just making sure...

What brand is the brush guard?

Re: Brushgaurds

i made my own pre-runner brush guard. i made it to mount to the existing bumper mounts, so it goes right thru the bumper. if you go to my web page - http://fishyoo7.homestead.com/parts.html - then you can see some pics of it. also attached is a pic of it, there are more on the web page and how i made it.

Try Go Rhino -- and forget about chrome; it'll rust you out...

Good man... Gee, you must be one of those "real off-road types".. .

My dad has a Go Rhino on his Toyota and he loves it. And this one is all black too... It holds up pretty steady and I'm sure that customer service has to be better than Manik's is!

Re: Brushgaurds

Only problem is the go rhino ones look like the hook in where the tow hooks go, not only do i not like how that looks, it would be near impossible for me to mount those since i have the body lift.

Re: Brushgaurds

I have a westin on my truck. It mounts to existing holes in the frame by the hooks but the same holes and stuff. Also i want a body lift to and noticed on mine the holes are oblonged so there might be enough room if you lift the body. O and i picked the westin cause it has a lift time warrenty on it and it flows with the lines of the truck. The paint was bubbling in one spot and they replaced it with now questions asked i'm pretty happy with it. O and i only got the push bar part of it and not the brush car rap arounds i liked how just this looked. And later on down the road if i want them i can buy them and they bolt right on. I attached a picture also.
