Re: 4.3L out of a van???

I know that the oil pickup tube and the oil pan are different if you are putting the motor in a 4x4, the valve covers may have different grommets, and the throttle linkage may be different, but the basic motor will bolt in. I think that the manifolds are the same. When I did my 5.7 conversion, my old 4.3 went into an astro with no problems. As long as the trans that you are hooking it up to was for a 4.3 or v8, it will bolt up. (if you check on the S10 4x4.com site, there is a write up on this, but the guy got a couple of his sensors confused, the knock sensor and the oil pressure sender.) Hope this is helpful.
