O2 sensor with dual exhaust

A friend of mine has a 90 blazer with a 4.3,he is putting a true dual exhaust on.Does he need two O2 sensors then? One for each pipe?Does it matter if the O2 sensor only reads one pipe?

Re: O2 sensor with dual exhaust

Many of the GM v6 and v8 set ups used only one sensor and many of them were in one of the manifolds, they only sample one bank from the factory. Your friend shouldn't have any problems.
