HELP!! 4.3 Oil problem

Help! tonight, I was running an easy trail when the oil pressure hit 0. I cut off the engine immediately, then waited a min, and then restarted. It was fine for a few, then it did it again. I repeated this process 3 times on the way back home. On the trail and on the road (once). I just had my oil changed (3 days ago) and notice the first day that the pressure was slightly lower than normal (3-5 psi). It was pretty scary. Any suggestions on what went wrong? I am thinking it could be the oil pressure sender wires, but I am not sure. I checked the level of oil, and it seemed fine, but then again, I was in bad lighting. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!! Keep on 'roadin!!

Sounds like the sending unit to me. check the wire over really well for cuts or wear marks.. Mine got wore threw this summer during a froading trip and it was grounding out on the frame.

Good Luck

Re: HELP!! 4.3 Oil problem

These engines have had notorious problems with their oil pressure gauges.

Re: HELP!! 4.3 Oil problem

Here is the scoop on the sending unit guys. As I finally got the connector off of the sending unit, I found oil in the connector. not just a little, but a lot...the oil punched through the sending unit and into the connector! I have never seen anything like it! thanks for all of the help on this!
