Starter eater

My Jimmy eats starters i have put high torque starters for small blocks on it and everything ive tyed shimming none of it works i was wandering if any of you had any ideas

How exactly is it eating your starters up?The gears?Solonoids?

Sounds like a warped or loose flywheel to me. Also if the torque converter is over tightened or off center when it was tightened down it will pull the flywheel uneven and give it the warped effect. If you've changed the starters that many times. Could as stupid as it sounds that in production the block might have been drilled off center a little on the starter bolts and slipped by the QC dept too. Is your starter bolts bent or too small by any chance either? Just some ideas, I've seen it all in the past, Tom.
