Help, No Reverse!

for the past week or so I have heard a noise coming from what I thought was the rear end, so I topped off the fluid tonight and went to move the blazer when the reverse would not engage and sounded like a high pitched whining noise?? Any ideas? Thanks a bunch.

Re: Help, No Reverse!

check to make sure your linkage is working and that you are fully into reverse.

if that is not it, 9 times out of 10 it is time for a rebuild. if reverse is gone and third gear is gone as well, the band/clutch is shot in the tranny. there is no band aid fix, it is time for a swap or rebuild.
