colorado or s10

I have the option of buying an s10 2004 with 21K miles for 17.5K or getting a new colorado (z71 and all the trimmings for 23K and having a 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty.

I will not be lifting the truck but will be using it to tow a 2K pound trailer on long road trips and will be racking up the miles quickly. I am wondering..should I junp to the new to get the warranty and want not or stay with the s10. I understand that the 4.3 engine has better low end torque for towing but then again my trailer is light.

Essentally I am wondering whether I would be paying the difference in maintence fees to go with the used truck without a warranty or if the truck is strong enought to last me a good while to make the warranty not worth moving up to a new truck.

COs are nice, but the 4.3 is proven. i dont want to sway one way or the ohter, but i see a lot of 4.3 with over 300K miles on them. its tought to argue with those numbers. but tyen againthe inlines are notorious for l9ongevity. so basically decide what you like best. you probably wont be disappointed
